Partnering with local schools in Pisac, Peru. Sacred Valley helps to create valuable skills with a hands-on approach.

Project Sacred Valley is located in Pisac, a Peruvian village in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The village has a population of just fewer than 10,000 residents and is a popular tourist destination due to its location within within the mountains of Cusco. Enactus Ryerson is working with schoolchildren in Pisac to help empower and engage them to become more involved in their educations through the use of entrepreneurship.

Project Overview

Our team is currently working with a local school in Pisac to craft a sustainable on-ground business located out of the school’s community garden producing locally made, organic products. This business, managed by the schoolteachers and their classes, will serve two primary purposes for the education of the youth:

1. Experiential Learning: The children in Pisac will learn valuable skills, allowing them to gain new insights and a new perspective on education.

2. Increased Incentive: This program will further incentivize students to become invested in their education and allow them to take a hands-on approach.
